definitely not all original, though in theory the second hand could be a LIP design variation ?

at that asking price the seller at least should have arranged for a proper Sternkreuz M crystal

I think the second hand (large chrono hand) is , I believe, OK but the slide rule has been replaced and the smaller hands have been repainted
what irks me as well is the one I have is 40 pieces 'older' (serial 655640) but has a diff. dial & the wider bezel
there seems to be no consistency with the cases / bezels / dial layouts etc and that is worrying

Not worrying that either is incorrect but that even in such a small serial range there's big differences

There’s one thing that I did not notice previously, and that is very alarming indeed.

It has 125 beads on the bezel, only the very earliest 806 Navitimers had 125 beads, all the 1963 Cosmonautes I have seen so far had bigger beads on the bezel, and 93 of them.

I don’t believe that it left production like that, and it’s definitely enough for me to stay away from such a piece. It’s really strange, because it has the characteristics of a 1963 dial.

Hi guys, just found this forum Topic on my rare Breitling Cosmonaute.

I can tell you the watch has been never modified or any part has been replaced ... it is all original!

I got the the watch from the first Hand owner (a Pilot) and I can promise you the watch is as delivered.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Please ask me questions if you still have concerns

Regards from Germany
Michael

I have no concerns as based on my own and Kurt's observation there are several things not quite correct with this watch and it didnt leave the factory like this

-: sliderule ring w/ red indicators doesn't belong to this type of dial
-: hands have been repainted
-: rotating bezel or maybe even the whole case was at one point replaced , personally I think its the bezel that was replaced as the case wouldnt have fit a V178 movement

.... who will own a watch that has several issues.
none of them major, as long as the seller is open about it and does not claim the red accented dial ring and the 125 bead bezel did a timewarp gig and ended up as "all original" in a Cossie from 1962 ....

:yeahthat

Hopefully the buyer understands that in this case rare means rare because it has changed since leaving the factory!
