well, the Top Time family is almost complete now.

had been hunting for one of these for quite a long time, the smaller square tonneau Top Time ref. 2011 that we discovered in the Breitling Japan catalog some time ago - never saw one offered, thought these were Japan only, as they appear in no other catalog or ad.

now one came up from the UK - bad pics again, so relatively affordable. watch came with signed, but unstamped warranty papers from early 1970s, although dial and hands point to a mid 1960s production - did not succeed in opening the caseback and did not want to scratch it after it survived in decent condition for almost 50 years - so no serial number or movement shot yet, but assume it will be Venus 175.

watch belonged to the seller's brother who has passed away some years ago, but seller thinks the watch was bought in the UK, as he remembers no Japan travels.

thank, Roff; it really is a very nice piece, happy to finally have one to document this ref.

if you compare the dial on this one - this is what I meant with "dial lacks the detail of the Top Time line" in this thread viewtopic.php?f=11&t=45494

these mid 60s dials are of outstanding "crispness" - for the lack of a better word ?

Agree completely - I think that I was suffering from lack of sleep / caffeine / brainpower that day. The alternative is stupidity and senility and I'm not ready to go there yet

well, we could renegotiate our reciprocal inclusion in our wills - whoever turns senile first has to transfer the watches ?

thanks all, rather enjoying it, frankly.

have the caseback open now (electronics engineers make rather capable watchmaker assistants) and am proven wrong.

not a Venus 175 like in the earliest 2211, but a Valjoux 7730; watch is from 1967, the first year these were produced and still carries the WOG marking on the bridge.

you are right, Roff, did not notice that !
maybe Craig has an idea ?

here's a hires crop, also now notice a "crack" on the bridge.
