Hi Guys
Brand new to Breitling so please forgive ignorance, have hust been given a vintage Transocean as a gift. Would appreciate any thoughts on age/model/authenticity etc

Thanks in advance!

They came in three versions, stainless steel, the gold top (like yours), and a 18k version. They date to around the mid 1950's. Yours appears to have the wrong Omega crown on it. Here's the one I had a couple of years ago.

Nice looking piece (apart from the non original crown), one of the underappreciated pieces of the 50s.

Thanks for the information guys, very useful

What would the original crown have looked like? The one embossed with the Breitling 'B'?

Yes it would have had the Breitling B crown originally but not unusual to have a plain replacement crown since they do wear out.
