I saw this auction yesterday. i really can't believe how much people are willing to pay for the worst examples. Do they think they'll get them running for next to nothing?!

yep. if you happen to have a 7740, a caseback, a decent unrefinished dial, a corretc sliderule.
7740 donors cost about 6-800. you'll end up spending more than you'll ever recoup, I think.
