Years ago I bought a Top Time ref. 2003 off an online site. When it arrived, I was completely surprised to find that it came with a box (not sure the vintage) and papers. The watch is said to be from 1968 and i have not really looked into whether not not these are 100% correct for this year but they sure do look the part. I wanted to keep them in a safe place, out of sight but still wanted to be able to see them from time to time so...I recreated them. I guess its the graphic designer in me that just couldnt resist. Maybe I was just a bit bored at work as well. I set about scanning the papers and then figuring out the fonts used, recreating graphic elements and likes. In the end, they came out great! I can now stick my originals away safe in my, well safe and show these off. The language is pretty classic. They just dont write like this anymore. It was a fun little project and i would say that mine is almost prefect. I think the best part is trying to match spacing and breaks. We have come a very long way since then and I loved seeing all the strange spacings and things like that. I have to take some more pix of the originals and also of the box and see what people think. Again, it was a complete surprise when they arrived anyway. I just love having things that go together and are complete. |

Thanks so much. It didnt take me more then a day at work on and off. The time consuming thing was to type out all the language and then go back and set each letters spacing to be a close to the originals as possible. One of the cool things is that my book is stamped where it came from, Gibraltar. Even has the owners (or maybe the store owners) signature on it. I love that sort of stuff. |
