An 806 for review/evaluation/thoughts. Most curious about the "gold" hue to the subs.

could you please explain what you mean by "gold" hue to the subs.?

The subs don't look white, they have a gold tone just like they look in the pic. I have seen other pics that look "gold", but most are white?

subs as in subregisters? The numbers on the inner part of the dial?

Oky,got your PM that you meant subdials, think if they have a patina on them is fine if they get a goldish hue, thats because of age and something many collectors desire. Usually the rotating dial too would have a patina but they usually get replaced so sometimes look whiter.
I would take that watch out in sunlight for better pics. Wait for some more feedback from the experts around here.

Thanks, I'll get out in the sun tomorrow. Putting one more pic on here that may "show" better.

An example of the goldish patina is this watch of mine. It started life being white subdials but due to various factors like light, atmospheric conditions, etc. they turn different shades of yellow. Collectors especially like this aging in vintages.

Offcourse if they go dark green or black, then I would call that damage rather than patina usually caused by overexposure to moisture, etc. and most seasoned collectors would stay away from those.

troberts, that's just normal patina. You can see it on my A12023.

troberts, looks to me that maybe the numbers in the sub dials may have been re done they look a little thick if you compare them to mine (Page 2) "1969 Navitimer just bought" Page 3) which may indicate that your white face on your subs may also have been re done and thus cause the the difference in colour. Just a thought, ps nice watch.

Doesn't look like a redial to me.

Can't comment on much else with just a dial shot though.

The bottom subdial bugs me a bit, would put the others down to focus. If it's a redial, then it's a darn good one other than blurry subs!

Was a little concerned with the number 9 but your 2nd pic is much clearer in hindsight I was perhaps a little too anoracky

Would have already posted better, but the weather in Philadelphia won't cooperate. More in the sunlight to come.
