I recently was given an old Breitling stopwatch from my father-in-law. It is in a worn box that says "Breitling Geneve" and on the stopwatch itself it says "Wakmann 7 Jewels 1/5". I have looked it over, and am unable to find a serial number of any kind on the watch itself. However on the underside of the box there is a sticker with this printed on it: "WW-01-48.00"

Additionally it has an old "American Guarantee" warrenty card in it dated 1975.

Would anyone be able to tell me how to find a serial number, assuming one even exists?

I will be posting some pictures later on today, but just wanted to get some insight about my serial number issue.

Thank you for your time!

These pure timers generally didn't have serial numbers so I would expect them to be from the early 1960's to the late 1970's so 1975, as the paperwork is marked, is probably about right. The pocket watches with chrono features are about the only ones I've seen with serial numbers and they correspond to the wristwatch chronograph serial number sequencing.

That makes sense. Thank you for the information. I would take it then that something like this isn't very valuable? Also, where might I be able to go to get it serviced and repaired? It works great, but there seems to be a small crack on the bottom of the glass/plastic casing.

Any wacthmaker familiar with mechanical watches should be able to service it. They really aren't very complex so it's usually just a matter of cleaning and oiling. Value would be in the $50 - $150 range mostly based on condition. These Breitling/Wakmann timers still pop up fairly regularly in nos unused condition.
