(first post) I inherited this amazing watch from my grandfather at his passing. I'm told it's an early 40's (story goes he bought it in England during WWII). I'm attempting to get it back to it's original form. Things that I know are new/replaced. New strap. Replaced crown and glass (crystal?). Bezel removed? These are the best photos I have. If anyone knows who fixes these, that information would also be useful as Breitling "won't touch it"...

wholeheartedly recommend 'chronodeco'

but there's somethings incorrect , dial, maybe the hands and the sliderulering have all been redone and not in the best way

good luck with the restoration as parts are very hard to come by

:yeahthat on all accounts.

Craig (forum member chronodeco) would be the person to turn to, BUT, as Rene has said, quite a few things seem quite problematic.

Here is an excellent article about the early Chronomats:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f39/breitl ... -9103.html

The serial number dates the watch to 1945, but the dial has been refinished (both inner dial and dial ring), and has a design that I at least have never seen on an authentic piece.

The missing bezel will be very, very hard to replace, your only hope would be to find a donor watch - you will need a bit of luck and quite a lot of patience to find one - but then you would still have the issue of the wrong dial ....

Still, as it probably has a lot of sentimental value for you, when you have all the parts (crown and crystal are minor issue, hands seem correct to me), Craig could restore it to perfection.
