Is it worth the $2750 for the 'buy it now'?

That would be a lot for this watch. The service is worth something, though the movement still has some marks on it, the dial will put some people off - I would like to see it cleaned, though equally some will like the aged look.

No idea what the bracelet does to the price, I wouldn't pay extra for it, but I guess it has some inherent value.

In this condition, for a relatively common piece, I'm thinking nearer $2,300, maybe up to $2,500 - maybe.

Hmm, I guess I'll watch it for a while ;)

You said in another thread that you can't wear a watch smaller than 45mm - you realise that this is 37mm right?

I thought this was nice, from the same seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/18K-Rose-Gold-Breit ... m153.l1262

Is this OK or a Frankenwatch?

I'm not sure about this one. The lack of a serial number makes me nervous, and I'm not convinced that the bridge and caseback engraving is original - it's good, I'm just not quite sure.

I'll need to hit the books for details on the 195, it's not a model I know off the top of my head so I'll research this evening.

True, but I never said I would wear a vintage... just looking to squirrel it away ;)

Still can't find anything on model reference 195. That in and of itself doesn't mean much, but combined with the lack of a serial and the maybe / maybe not engraving, I think I'd walk away from this one.

OK, well - to each their own. It likely isn't a great investment though compared to other investment types (or even some other vintage watch brands).

If you do buy a vintage just make sure that it at least gets a wind every couple of weeks or so to prevent the oils breaking down, and keep some silica gel close to hand.

I'll keep that in mind, though I think at this point I'm going to concentrate on current Lings. :)

I live in the Phoenix area were this guy is listing this watch from. I am going to see if I can meet up with him to take a look. I would be more than happy to look closely for any BS Forum bidders and respond back with my own pictures or something. Let me know as I will be going either way, even if it is just a field trip and Vintage learning experience.

Great Vintage collection by the way Toni, I like your Chronomat... version best. Thanks for posting them.
