Hi Guys,

This one is on it's way to Orlando, and I'm so excited to see it. A 1977 "Iraki Air Force Navitimer" that was completely restored by Breitling Switzerland (mint condition), from an enjoyable collector in Rotterdam...what a journey this beauty has seen. Friday can't come soon enough for its arrival to my office.

Wow, that's a beauty, congrats! Is that picture of before the service? If so I don't see anything visually wrong with it, what restoration work did Breitling do on it?

Thanks, Cruvon...I believe that this photo is after the restoration by Breitling. I am to receive it this Friday morning and will try to post more pics. The BIG question that I have for the forum is why did the Iraki Air Force receive a special edition Breitling? What was the connection to Breitling in 1977 under Saddam Hussein's regime. Not trying to get political in any way...just super curious about the connection. Any thoughts on the subject are much appreciated!

Cheers Doug, look forward to seeing the pics. Am sure the experienced guys here will comment on the provenance/originality of these dials. I thought they were issued to the Iraqi airforce on order, to be used by their pilots. See one on sale here http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-48MM-VINTA ... 4d026dd196 and a UAE one that just sold here

Btw, does yours have a IAF emblem on the caseback? Read that in most the emblem has been worn out because of the soft caseback.

There are a bunch of similar Iraqi air force models. They exist simply because they were ordered - Breitling has a long track record of producing logo dial variants of their watches for various military units.

Cruvon, here ya go - the back looks to be in pretty good shape. I'll know more tomorrow (and thanks, Roff!).

Very nice, you have the back engraving intact!
