Well unfortunately it's not completely original - the central hands are iffy for sure (especially the chrono seconds). Does it have any markings on the caseback - I can see steel around the outside but nothing else - and honestly I don't think the caseback is original.

Also, is it possible to get photos of the inside of the caseback and the movement?

Thanks so far for the help. I have posted pictures of the movement and case back. The case back says "Breitling Watch Co.", Swiss and a number 9657. The movement is a 17 Jewel movement, and the serial number is 3320940.

Thank you again, and let me know what you think now.

David

I stand corrected - the hands are right.

I forgot all about this watch until I saw that movement. The movement is a Lemania 1873 and this is a correct 9657 from early 70s from memory - I'm away from home and don't have material with me.

This is one of the few models other than the Cosmonaute to use this movement (and obviously this has the 12 hour gearing). There's no serial on the outside of the caseback?

I think that's where they were, but may have worn away - the caseback looks like it's 'experienced'. Pretty sure that it's early 70s anyway, but the exact year is always nice.

The serial number on the Lemania doesn't help us date it - pretty sure that they aren't traceable.

It's an unusual watch, first of these that I have seen in a while (hence why I forgot about it  )

Is there a model name or number to this watch? I'm just not too familiar, I just picked it up in a collection of watches that I purchased last week. Thank you again for your insight.

Really? I must be getting old, I don't even remember that.

Paul stops by every few days so he'll definitely provide his thoughts.

FWIW, I do see what appears to be this same model watch on page 111, of the (Benno Richter) Breitling -- The History of a Great Brand of Watches, 1884 to the Present (revised 3rd edition, 2007).

It says, "Long Playing", circa 1970.
$1,800-$2,000
[I doubt that!]
