Hello all, I'm new to Breitling and just got a Top Time 2002. I've had trouble finding information about how to properly wind and use the features of this watch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you! |

congrats, as stated before -a very nice piece ! apparently this is your first chronograph, nothing here is Breitling-specific ? Wind it, as you would all manual watches, until you feel growing resistance, then stop. top pusher at "2" starts and stops the chronograph bottom pusher at "4" resets the chronograph to zero left subidial at "9" shows "running seconds" right subdial at "3" shows minutes elapsed. center second hand shows seconds elapsed your watch has a tachymeter scale - on the outer dial ring, this shows the speed per hour, typically used for driving speeds. keep your watch away from water and you should enjoy it for years. |

Congratulations, that's a great looking watch. Just to add one thing to what Fred wrote: make sure you stop the chronograph before resetting it. Enjoy your "new" watch. |

just do as watchfred said, top pusher at "2" starts and stops the chronograph; bottom pusher at "4" resets the chronograph to zero; left subidial at "9" shows "running seconds"; right subdial at "3" shows minutes elapsed. And do well the maintenance. |

Very nice watch. I am a sucker for Top Times and own 2 currently. Very important to not reset it before pushing the start/stop. This can jam the gears. Ask me how I know. Not sure but I wouldnt let the chrono run all the time either for fear of the watch running out of reserve with the chrono running. Again, I am not sure that it could hurt the watch once you wind it back up but no sense trying, right? If you end up having any issues, let me know. I just had my serviced by my watchsmith and he did a great job for a great price. Post more pix!!! |

Good to know. My 45 minute counter was screwy and I have read another post where theirs did the same. When you started the chrono, the minute counter would almost instantly jump one minute and then start counting from there. I was fine with that but then the whole system got jammed and the chrono was stuck open and would swing around with a light tab on the side of the case. My watch smith said its common and was able to fix without the need of any additional parts. I think the hammer was stuck open (might have just made that up). One thing he did say was that the crystal was a little loose. It holds itself in but not by much. I would love to get a replacement that fits tighter to ensure no moisture can get in. Not diving with it but god for bid it ever gets wet by mistake. |
