Beautiful indeed. Especially from the era it's from. Hard to come by for pieces from the 80's. |

I would knock $100 off my offer just because of this line in the description: "Just by you looking at this watch , makes me think that you not only have taste in fine watches but it validates what I think. So thanks for that. " Nice watch though! |

Bill in Sacramento wrote: Eberhard movement. I'm not sure that is a shot of the movement, to me it looks like a picture of a photo from a book. |

we saw that watch out of the UK some months ago, Bill found out it was a Eberhard movement, same shot from a book. would be nice to see an actual movement shot of that watch. nice, but my tastes are not refined enough to spend that amount on one of the 80s tributes (yet?) |

I agree, Eberhard movement according to my book. So, does that mean Breitling purchased some Eberhard movements for these watches or did someone just use one on this particular example? Actually I think the Eberhard movement is a better quality movement than the period correct Venus. |

Interesting question, I don't know when Breitling signed the contract with ETA for the supply of movements. Did Sicura use Eberhard at the time? |

Actually I think the Eberhard movement is a better quality movement than the period correct Venus. also the only (afaik) period correct 40s chrono w/ date at 6, we saw several of these, but hard to imagine these Eberhards were "found wrapped in oilcloth" as the story goes about those 80s tributes, as we see no indication of these movements being used in the original Breitling models. CynicalFred would assume Mr. Schneider just bought a bunch of stock movements in the 80s and marked them, when he decided to produce those Limited Editions, neither the Eberhards nor the Venus in the LEs have markings that appear period correct. Edit: if somebody would finally list a "Limited AddiCtion", now this I would buy immediately ! |
