Anyone knows what this is ?
Its being sold in amsterdam next week but I wonder if anyone knows this watch/brand so I can decide whether or not I need to go to the viewing day for the auction

picture is quite blurred but looks like a standard Chronographe Suisse, Renee, any better pics ? No movement shots but high probability this is a Landeron.

this is all thats in the catalog , and a the description says 'hand wound old watch' in the catalog , nice huh ?

Looks like a early '40s Chronographe Suisse watch. Most likely powered by a Landeron 51. Looks to be in great condition. Although not extremely rare or valuable, it should be pretty collectible piece. I have a few of the 51 powered chronos, and they all seem super reliable and accurate.

Chronographe Suisse apparently made watches as a group of highly skilled independent makers gathered together in a sort of union. Typically considered generic,because of their lack of big name affiliation and use of more common movements, in some collector circles from what I've experienced. I think it's just a better opportunity to pick up a quality vintage chrono at very good prices.

I would get it if it was near me and went low enough. Of course, I'm just a Chronoholic. ;-)

starting price is 135 euro's , but its a city controlled 'pawn' auction where they typically sell jewelry and high end watches
The way the city pawn shop works , you hand in your goods/jewelry/watches and you get amount xxx . If you pick it up you pay 10% 'interest'
If you dont pick it up it will get auctioned off with a start price thats exactly the same as what the person got when he brought it in. Buyer pays 16% auction fee over the final price

If you're really lucky you can pick up a Audemars Piquet Royal Oak Offshore complete w/ papers etc for around 5K - 6K euro's

I once bought a Chronomat Vitesse complete w/ bracelet & papers for 600 euro's

135€ Seems like a good deal if it's running. I would say anything under 180€ would be fine. Don't see them often, but a slight chance it could even be 18k. Could be a real bargain then.

Rene, IF it is 18k I would try to go for it up to 300 or so, GP or chromed (not sure, but think I did not see SS Chronographe Suisse) I would really not go above 180 including the buyers fee, but this would only be about a rise of €20 from the opening price. If this is the only intesting item in the auction it might nit really be worth the hassle ? Would think they would note in the catalogue if it wre 18k ?

Its 18K gold , not GP or Steel Chromed , definitely 18K
