LOL  it was one of these situations most of us collectors cherish, did not have much more than this, early morning hunting and this one shows up. Very, very bad pics of an extremely rare watch, one of the the most beautiful early divers. Offered at a rather reasonable BIN - had to decide immediately (before a collector friend with threateningly similar tastes woke up) and did, of course, took me all of 10 seconds. These earliest SuperOceans have achieved quite ridiculous prices recently, far, far outside my comfort zone, though time will tell if this is sustainable. First looks in Dalles seem to confirm all is well, needs quite a bit of TLC and Craig is inundated in work, but will post pics when it is done. |

a great catch Fred, I am sure the watch will look 100 times better after Craig has had it I really do like these kind of catches with the bad pics and all as it gives you the few minutes (or seconds) more to decide over people just waking up not even having had their morning espresso  . It also shows that the seller has 'a watch' for sale and not 'a rare collectors item' which helps with keeping the price 'affordable' !!

Ha, when I first saw it I thought vintage SO...nobody had replied yet. I doubted my vintage abalities to correctly call it out from that small picture so I passed. You guys must have taught me well in a short time. Very cool being from the SO line so far back in time. Can't wait to see it freshened up. |
