Roff, feel free to move this if I have stuck it in the wrong section. Anyone know how to remove the bezel from a Pult? After advice i contacted Lester and one is winging its way to me now.

It should just pop off... That is if it's the same as my chronomatic...
If it rotates freely in both directions then there should just be a thin metal lining holding the bezel around the crystal edge.

So just use a case knife under the edge?

Yes you remove it by using a case knife , it holds only with a thin metal wire spring . Your Pult Chrono-Matic will be as new :lingsrock:

:yeahthat

it's just a tad tricky though... make sure the bezel is seated in properly with the thin metal wire and snapped on properly... I gave mine a slight tug and rotating it left and right after putting it back on for the test... you'll know if its not seated in properly.

I didn't know all this until mine came off accidentally... i thought it would have to go back to Craig... a learning experience itself. :D

Post subject:  Re: Removing Pult Bezel... EDIT Help required

OK bear with me,
So i got my new bezel from Lester and removed the old one just fine. The glass came off with the bezel (it is just a snap on glass). The bezel sits in a channel on the case with a surclip underneath the bezel.

I was able to refit the surclip into the channel, then push the glass up thru the bezel and then snap the glass and bezel back onto the case. But the bezel rotates too freely and doesn't seem attached to the case. It's just being held down by the glass and the surclip isn't engaging with the bezel. But i can't see a different way of putting it on.

Am i making a newbie mistake?

That's odd... my crystal never came off or maybe it was supposed to but it didn't... I'm going to assume channel as in like a groove and surclip as in the thin metal wire lining correct?

FWIW my bezel actually rotates freely as well on my 2110... actually it's too free but i know that it's firmly enough seated onto the crystal... I had a hard time seating the thin metal lining along with the bezel as well... that was the tricky part... maybe some pics could help when you have the time? I'm a newbie as well and had to learn on my own too...

Got it! My mistake was that i was placing the surclip inside the groove on the case instead of inside the bezel itself. It has the right tension now.
