I was wondering about this watch... How much it is worth... And where would be the best place to sell it might be...

Would be happier answering the question of value if we could see the movement.

Can you also let us know what the numbers on the back are - one looks like simply 40, but I can't read the other.

The numbers are 1414356 which is below the 40 you see...
How do you get to see the movement??

The 40 is throwing me. It looks like a 7104, and the serial number (1975) makes sense, but I don't understand a model number of 40 - see what others say. For the movement, the safest will be to ask a watchmaker or remove the caseback.

I just had it serviced by a local swiss watchmaker here in nj... it works great now... i guess i forgot to ask him to take pictures of the inside of it... Ill try to get some soon though...
Any idea on how much it might be worth though??

"40" is the part number for the housing for the movement, pushers, crown, dial and hands assembly that slip into the case body. From the side/crown view, you can see the case body fitting over the pushers and crown. It makes the watch modular with the different case designs, mostly the lunkish ones. We have to get the model number out of the catalog (7104) or one of the inventory stickers that came with the Old World consignment.

iirc the reference number on these is on the "upper" case opposite the crown ?

That's right, I forgot about that.

So @ the OP, it is looking good so far, but value is going to depend a lot on the movement.

Ok I noticed another number on the opposite side of the crown: 7104
Also I popped off the back case and took pictures:
On the back case it says: Breitling Watch LTD, SWISS, BREVET 508925
On the movement it says: Breitling Watch LTD Cal 7740

That all looks fine.

The biggest market for it is probably eBay, but you can also try the Buy / Sell / Trade section here.

There were a bunch of NOS ones sold by a dealer over the last few years and they ended up selling the last ones for $1,295, so $1,300 - $1,500 is a reasonable price
