I just thought of something , quite funny actually.

Most of the watches we discuss here are 'questionable' to say the least and some prove to be quite genuine after a well informed discusion here. The really good , hopefully affordable, and desirable pieces that are offered on Ebay rarely get discussed before they are purchased ! And I am just as 'guilty' of that of course

I did not post the AVI 765 until after I bought it. I didn't post the , what I believe is a '54 Navitimer with V72 movement , until after I bought it , I didn't post the Unitime until after I pressed the 'Buy now' button etc etc

Please don't ask me which pieces I have an eye on right now because I won't tell you :P but it just struck me that no one seems to do it , which is understandable of course. And with so many nice watches on offer at any given time we clash from time to time but it all seems good natured afterwards

So my thanks to a great forum ! and lets hope we don't clash too often

Well I've said before (though generally on the modern topics) that I choose not to share all of my collection, and while I do sometimes share a new piece it tends to be more the new ones than vintage pieces so I do keep things to myself when I stumble across things.

I think that we tend to focus on the 'iffy' ones because a lot of people come here asking and that is the source of topics, and uneducated buyers don't know good from bad. Discussions of 'good' watches also tend to be shorter unless they are unusual pieces - one of us says that it's fine, answers any specific questions and the rest of us see no point in saying the same thing using different words.

I think that there are a number of debates where knowledge is stretched and that's wonderful. With one or two exceptions there is tremendous respect for one another and there are a number of us who collectively bring together a lot of knowledge that hopefully advances the collective awareness. I personally much prefer this to the situation a few years ago when it was Paul and I trying to figure it out on our own.

Definitely I've seen a lot of growth within the vintage section of this forum... I'm about to hit 3 years already on the forum as well but definitely more changes and more knowledge. Of course I've learned a bit over the years here as well.

My tastes have sorta migrated from vintage to contemporary but it's never that I've lost the love for vintage, but my quest to expand into other brands as well.
