now I just need a 100mm zoom macro lens so I dont have to get 'all close an personal' with the watches , but can stay 25cm away from them and still get a good macro shot

One real downside (or upside ?) no hiding use & wear anymore !

smaller size

I cant seem to upload the original file to photobucket, they seem to get downsized automatically :(

Very nice, one of my favourite Breitlings.

A very unusual bezel as well.

Thanks Yaffle,
there was a conversation about the bezel earlier when I bought the piece
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=34202

the 7652 & 7651 were certainly available with this bezel, I can only assume the 765 was as well ?
And with all the documentation with this piece and the all black bezel included when I received it
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=34352
I can only assume the bezel is correct and original , also the 2110 bezel wont fit either so I doubt it was replaced for a 'non original'

Rgds

A lovely set you picked up. Very nice.

The discussion covered most of the questions I would have about the bezel. I wonder if the bezel for the 7650 fitted onto the earlier 765. Do you think you have two bezels because the owner wanted to interchange them and maybe bought the double graduated one as an addition?

Here's one from a Japanese Book.

the 7650 definitely doesn't fit the 765 as the 7650 is slightly bigger than the 765
I have a 7650 bezel (which I am about to send to a forum member here) but its 2mm bigger on inside and also on the outside
i'll see if I can make some decent pics

but I have seen several 765's that came with both the chrome and black bezel , that makes me think the black was standard and the chrome (and this one) were "extra" orders

question on that book though :D it says co-pilot in the description but the back says 765 AVI (and where can we get that book ??)

It's interesting that the brochure that came with the watch shows the AVI with the steel bezel. It was all fairly mix and match in those days, so I'm sure all three were available.

Sadly I don't have the book, just a few scans of the Breitling chapter. The book was produced by a big dealer in Japan and some friends of mine have some very worn copies I was able to see. They all swear it's impossible to get hold of now.

See if your Japanese contact can get a couple and you can count me in for a copy. It's not 100% accurate, but is a very nice reference book.

Fingers crossed. The Japanese have made some of the nicest vintage books. They also produce some nice, glossy magazines which are worth picking up if you see them.
