Just wanted to share with you my new watch. The only Breitling I've ever fell in love with at first eyesight, and I just had to buy it. I hope you like it and would love to get some comments on it. What I see everything is original, but I know nothing about Breitlings.

When was it produced? The serial number is 556625 and the chart i found only cover 563659 and up? Next up is a movement service since the chronograph does not work as it should AND there is no service mark on the watch.

Some pictures:

congrats and welcome, for me the 769 is one of the most important watches Breitling has ever produced, the legacy still lives on in all the current Navitimers and Montbrillants , 70 years after it's launch in 1942, though some ads already appeared in 1941.

Your 769 is a very early piece, I would assume produced in 1943, the documented number range starts only in 1944, thus you do not find the number in the lists.

Edit: The hands on your watch are quite rare, as they are typically found on ref. 765 and 734s, personally have not seen them on a 769, very nice.

a movement pic would be nice, most probably it will be unsigned, might have cotes de geneve decorations. Please make sure you have it serviced by somebody who knows how to work on these.

Alan Trott has published a nice article about the Chronomat history, you might like to read this:

Very nice piece indeed based on what we see, and looks to be some good original condition.

Thanks for all the kind words and I'm happy you think it looks all original. Here are some pics of the movement, and yes I was just about to run out of sunlight... I'm not sure we got any watchmakers who knows these watches here in Sweden, do you guys know if there is someone who works on these in Europe?

Not convinced that the bridge engraving is original, but otherwise looks OK.

Recommendation for a watchmaker is Craig (chronodeco). He is in the US, but many European members use him. You can PM him here or contact him through his website - www.chronodeco.com
