Happy Holidays!

Over Christmas I received a Breitling Unitime World from the 1950's. It's in great shape and working fine. It is actually keeping accurate time. I have scanned the internet for more information about this watch but still limited. Is there someone here that knows more about this watch? Some questions I have is is it gold plated (14k, 18k or solid) and what kind of restore job can be done? The crystal has a couple of minor scuff but over all it's 80% good. I would also like to find a yellow gold tang buckle. I checked my local AD and it's a small fortune.

Thanks,

Looks like a nice Unitime. If you look between the lugs you might see some small letters indicating plaque 20 for the thickness of the gold plating. All solid gold Breitling's have gold back covers also. The steel indicates it's plated.

I hate threads on these watches - just reminds me that I still don't have one

Congrats on a great watch.

Thanks. I'v been lucky. I am not a big vintage guy but when I read a store on the Unitime World on ****** and saw the picture. I was hooked. Perhaps Brietling will make an update version in the future.
