Dear gentlemen, One more time, I need your advices  I just find a beautiful gold plated navitimer from 1959 (sn 920xxx). The watch is moved with a venus 178. Question is : is it possible to have a 2nd generation dial (aopa blackbird, no white subdials) with such a sn ? The dial is just perfect and everything seems to be in accordance (hands are gold and so on). Last but not least, is a gold plated navi really less desirable than a steel one ? Thx for your help, Alex |

no pic  it's the one with the aopa logo and nothing else ... exactly the same used for the 2nd generation 806 |

Alex To this query, yes, strange but true, the vintage steel models are more in demand currently and not just with Breitling but with other brands like Rolex too, where the gold vintages are not much in demand. It's got nothing to do with rarity I guess but just the fact that gold is out of fashion as a men's fashion accessory but it may very well change in the future if tastes change! |
