Hello everyone,

First off, thank you for all the good information you have provided. I have found this forum very helpful. Perhaps one day I will be able to assist others when I get more familiar with Breitlings. But until that day, I have a couple of questions on the 1972 Top Time (810). I bought it from a guy who put a metal band on it that was too small. What I would like to know is the correct band and buckle size? What is the correct length for the Lizard straps? Do I have another option from that time period? I would like to put the correct strap and buckle back on the watch for that time period.

Not the best shot but here's a picture of the TT. I always enjoyed seeing a pic' of the watch when reading through everyone's post.

In advance, thanks for your help.

I think you have a lot of choices and, if you're like me, just go with what you think looks the best. I've been known to switch fairly often, too. The model you have looks great on lots of different straps. It will be hard to settle on one.

If you look at the 1969 and 1970 catalogs posted in the "Chronologs and Books" section of this website, you'll see a big variety of strap choices. I see the 1969 catalog has your model on a padded croco strap. The mid-1970s catalog has it on a leather strap with holes. Hmmm. Not something I would select.

Modern straps are just so much better than 60s / 70s straps I would choose some contemporary ones and enjoy.

Thanks. I'm going with the normal black leather strap.

I really love the 60s Top Time models (thanks to WatchFred). Don't have any of them yet but am keeping my eyes open. Anyway, care to share a photo of your watch with the new strap? I'm sure others are interested as well.

I have an 810 winging its way to as as we speak. I'm going with a modern brown croco (mine's like yours but with gold case).
