Getting it from Kurt Broendum, thanks Kurt for answering my 101's;) on vintage Breitlings, I hope I didn't bore you too much. Must say he is a very patient soul indeed(did you try applying for sainthood;)?,kidding!) for answering all my detailed questions and sharing his knowledge, tempted me away from my next vintage Rolex! Lol, tell me about it, he's surely not going to part with the ones shown in his article but in the unlikely event he does I am first in queue, listening Kurt?:). True, didn't want to get burnt through ebay et al since the risks to a newbie of getting it wrong are too high and can be expensive mistakes to learn from, especially since some ebay sellers use photoshopped or altered pictures or photocopier scanned pictures to mask defects and make watches look better than they actually are. I like the "what I see is what I get" approach to buying vintage and even if I make compromises, they need to be informed ones rather than disappointing surprises. Then there is the question of all parts being authentic and period correct which is even harder to judge to the untrained eye by pictures alone.
For me is best left to the vintage knowledgeable amongst us to buy from the open market though ebay bidding is very tempting.
Will surely post pics when I get it!
