I am trying to get some help identifying this watch. It works perfectly and It was locked way since 1969 so I know it is at least that old.

Nice.
Navitimer 806 Gen 1, dial pic is not too good, but looks like "Breitling Geneve" above the AOPA logo, so probably later 50s to early 60s.
a serial number inside the caseback will help to date the case to a specific year.
Kurt & Dracha might be able to date it more exactly even without that number.

without the serial number its impossible to know for sure but I would say between 1956/57 and 1962
based on the all black dial and larger rice beads bezel
watch looks to be in an impeccable condition , I am jealous ! :D

Thats interesting as I would not call it a 1st generation
depending on the theory it might even be a generation 3 but typically a 1st generation would have small beads bezel in my view

Gen 1 V72 version
Gen 2 V178 version w/ small beads
Gen 3 V178 version w/ big beads

I don't know how open the watch back it looks like it has never been opened. Who should I get to do this?
Should I get it serviced before I sell it? How do I get a value?

should be done by a qualified watchmaker to prevent damage

sell it to me for little money :D

seriously , put it on Ebay (if you have a good sellers account) will yield the best price IF you put proper and clear pics on as well

my gen 1 classification is according to Jean Michels navitimer.net, he defines gen 1 as all black dial, beaded bezel, Venus 178s, gen 2 as V72s, and starts gen 3 only with the white subdials. This is probably based on the assumption that 178s really came before the 72s and that there are 1952 Navis based on these, so I think your classification is a better approach.

Whatever we call the generation, OPs Navi is a beautiful, clean piece, congrats !

Agree with everything said.

If you are planning to sell then let the buyer service it. You won't get your money back on servicing and it doesn't need any cosmetic attention so no need for work there. If you are planning to keep it then definitely worth servicing and we have a recommended member here.

it will (probably) be easy to open by any watchmaker, but will not tell us or you much more than we already know, besides adding to our knowledge base. If you decide to sell the watch on ebay, you would have to take decent pictures of the movement and inside caseback.
