Although these are technically not vintage (ie pre 1979/1980) Roff kindly allowed me to post these here in the Vintage section as we believe these are more relevant here

These are all the pics that I have of these 1990ies re-isues, the story goes that when the 'new' Breitling company took possession of the factory they found a bunch of old and unused V175 movements and decided to use these in re-issues of vintage looking watches

"The story behind this series is that when Breitling moved factory in the 1990’s they discovered 177 old movements wrapped in oil cloth. The movements were old but unused and not refurbished. They decided to service each movement and put them into a limited edition series of calendars and chronographs. The case is fashioned from solid 18 karat rose gold, with solid case back. It is made in the style of one of the original Breitling designs from the early 1960’s"

These pop up surprisingly regularly given that they are limited to 20, 40 and 50 pieces per series (as I am told)
I am not quite sure how many different series there are , there might just be these 3 ?

anyway , here's the ones I have , if you have pics of ones please add them so we can expand our knowledge base

edit: corrected spelling in the topic
edit: added the 'found in WH story"

from the below watch I have seen '175 / 165' and '175 / 070' , this seems to indicate that , from this model at least, there are 175 pieces made. that explains why they're offered regularly through the various sites

seems I am going to eat crow for the umpteeth time but I am trying to correct it.

This is an Original Breitling watch
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48980&p=353777&

But that 'Record Geneve' sure seems like its the exact same watch. Makes you wonder what else Breitling released / bought / sold and it also shows that DYODD really still stands

Here's 1 I found with the original documentation #8 of 30 , with a crystal caseback and its called 'Montbrillant 88'

Moonphase or day night indicator?

Post subject:  Yeech.

I speak only for myself, I think the fruit factor on these is just too high. On the Record/Breitling moonphases you posted today, I would have a difficult time being happy with a watch that has such a sloppy chapter half-printed around the moonphase and to have those round markers just below the painted circle awaiting a dot of luminous paint. It just seems too much of a mis-match.

You've gotten me to start saving images of these, too.

Bill, i couldnt agree more with you
Theyre nothing like what i would expect, down to the 2 tone gold case they scream 'fake' to me

However , i have now seen 2 pieces with papers and several without papers , i can only come to the conclusion that Breitling released these . I also believe they did not design these moon phases or even build them from parts. They most likely bought them from a 3rd party and had their name put on them
