Post subject: | 60s/70s 24Hour Chrono-matic Cosmonaute - Price/Availability? |
Hey guys, Im quite liking the look of the vintage 24Hour Chrono-Matic Cosmonaute, and am thinking about trying to acquire one. Im not sure what is a reasonable price for this watch expecially considering the age and varying conditions, often coming with nothing but the watch itself. In all my searching on the web Ive only found two for sale, that in my eyes appear to be over-priced. First one on Ebay from Germany that has been there for ages: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BREITLING-COSMON ... dZViewItem and the second from a vintage watch specialist in Australia (which is a lot more convenient, but still expensive) http://www.watchtime.com.au/breitling.htm (2nd watch down) Can anyone give me any ideas, specifically on the 24H Chrono-matic cosmonaute? I also did find one for sale from a collector on TZ but he hasnt replied to my PM. It may be long gone.... Ref Photo (linked from watchtime link above) Thanks Andrew |

wow for that kind of money I'd go for a new one instead.. looks almost the same and is probably going to be easier to service. |

hey admin, yeh I do agree, but I also would like a "vintage" watch as well ![]() Saying that, I still think those two examples are over-priced, and I wouldnt go for them. Especially the Aus one which needs an overhaul, and has a mark on the glass, and some bad lume. I guess Ill just have to keep my eye out, but if anyone can give me a good value guide that would be great! Andrew |

These are fairly hard to find, but I'm with you - these are way over priced. There is one in the guide (although Richter calls it a Cosmonaute Automatic). That one's on a bracelet with a guide price of $2,200 - $2,500. Richter knows a lot more than me, but I would have said more $2,500 - $3,000 these days. |
