Hi folks-I bought a NOS Breitling Long Playing Chronograph (circa 1969 vintage) from Old Wolrd Jewelers in 2008 or 2009. It kept great time. About one year later, the crystal shattered (my fault) and I thought that as it had been in storage for 40 yrs., it might be a good idea to have it lubricated. I had it overhauled by a FL company. About one year later, the watch started losing time, settling in at a steady 75 minutes lost per 24 hours. Finally, the crystal popped off for no apparent reason last week during a business trip (not my fault this time!) and the hands were lost with it. You will be shocked to learn that my attempts to contact the FL concern were unsuccessful.

So-having searched this site, it looks like the only safe place to send it for repair in the US is BUSA/CT, and that I'll have to sell my oldest son on EBay to pay for the repair, correct? If so, I'll send it there-just want to know your collective opinions.

Thanks for your advice, :(

No!!!!!!!

Don't send a vintage to BUSA. PM chronodeco (Craig) and he'll look after you for a fraction of the price of anyone else. Highly recommended by many members here.
