Real, but not 50s. It's actually a very interesting serial number, the last 1969 is recorded as 1,337,825 and this is pretty darn close to that. |

I don't think the dial looks right either but I've found a few online that look exactly the same. Maybe someone has a cottage industry going with these. |

Just found this with the Swiss patent number, which likely tells us all that we need to know - http://www.chrono24.com/en/chronographe ... 588566.htm Still trying to find out what the patent is, it doesn't seem to be in the online databases. |

great find, Roff. looked for the brevet/patent too, but did not find the Chrono24 listing. I would assume the patent refers to the technology of connecting top and bottom case through the screws in the lugs, have not seen this type of mounting before, probably listed by the case manufacturer ? Interesting to see that several sellers on Chrono24 are offering watches under the "Chronographe Suisse Cie" brand, if I am not mistaken this is one of the revival attempts of the 90s and no such company existed when many manufacturers shared the CS branding on mid-to-low-end (primarily Landeron) chronographs. But we know enough now to be sure that this specimen never came close to the Breitling workshops in the 50s. |

As for that 4 screw mounting system, I have seen that on a few genuine vintage Breitling's over the years. Don't remember the reference numbers but the fact that they used that mounting system always intrigued me. I'll have to dig around a bit for an example. |
