Afternoon all. I have a 1969 Breitling TopTime 810 that needs a bit of polishing to the case. The scratches aren't deep and there aren't any big dings in it, so it should be relatively easy. (As a slight aside, it just received a full service from a chap here in the UK that came recommended from the forum. Seems to have done a very good job with the service, but for some strange reason said he couldn't polish the case "because of the chrono pushers." I found this very odd). Anyway, I've polished a few other watches that had similar scratching with some cape cod cloth, and they've come out ok. Not perfect, but given I wear the watch regularly it's bound to continue getting scratches over time, it's good enough for me. But I just can't seem to figure out whether the stainless steel Top Time case is meant to have a polished, or brushed look! I've compared it to other watches I have, and it seems to be in the middle of the two! I'm pretty sure it should be polished and that years of scratches have made it look almost "semi-brushed", but wanted to check on here before doing something stupid. Any help would be great.
