Post subject:  Identification on this watch please.

Hi I was talking watches with the elderly gent from over the road ,when he said he was given a Breitling for his 21st birthday in 1950 bought in Dublin ,regretably he has over wound it .The numbers on the back are as follows.751654 1189,does any body know if this watch had a name.

Well, 751654 equates to 1950, and as has been stated on the Forum before, you can't technically "overwind " a watch, it will be interesting to see what the experts make of this, looks good to me though.

No name, it's a model 1189. Venus 188 powered and looks to be in nice original condition except for the unfortunate amateur engraving.

looks good, indeed.
some 1189 chronographs had the "Cadette" branding, but basically it is named Breitling ref. 1189, like it says on the watch. can not say anything about the functional side, of course, and a movement shot would be nice, but you'll find it has the Venus 175/188
