Serial No puts it at 1952, not certain regarding movement, ( my ref 2906 29 serial 627***) has the FHF 28 movement, and looks to me as though the BREITLING logo has been written onto the movement in the watch you posted? the rest of the watch appears to be OK though, imo, except for the crown.

Crown looks fine to me, dial and case are fine, movement may be OK, but would want a better picture. As hardrockminer says the name on the bridge doesn't look right.

Ye, the movement does seem to be off. I dug around a little and this is what I came up with. Tell me your thoughts.

That's German, definitely not that.

With that balance cock it looks like an ETA 1080 to me.

Do you think it may be original to the watch or could it have been swapped at some point?

Not sure from that photo. Breitling weren't big ETA users at the time, FHF would be more normal, but multiple makers were using the same movements, so it can be tough to determine. The Breitling doesn't look correct which is the biggest clue that we have so far.

Hey Roff,
I researched ETA 1080. You seem to be on the money with that movement. Good job. Do you think the watch is worth $599.00?

With the questions about it I wouldn't pay more than $100 or so.
