this chronograph is being sold by a Jewelery store in NY. They sell lots of different preowned watches. They are selling this for $3,500. Do you think that is a fair price? I like the look of it, I just want to make sure it is worth the asking price.

Rare Gents Breitling Chronograph, ca. late 50's in Steel on strap with steel Breitling buckle, screw down case back engraved with Military markings, case diameter 38mm. Manually wound movement, chronograph with 45 minute counter, and sub seconds. Silver dial with exotic honeycomb style dial center, with applied rose colored Arabic numerals, and rose colored hands, registers for 45min and sub seconds, blue print tachymetric scale on dial outer edge. Stunning condition.

Movement: Manual wind
Dial: Silver
Crystal: Acrylic
Case Material: Stainless Steel
Case Diameter/Dimensions: 37.50mm
Case Thickness: 12.60mm
Caseback: Solid Screw down

$3,500 for that - they are dreaming.

Dial looks like it's been redone and would want to see photos of the caseback and movement because would be surprised if they were original.

This would actually be funny, if they did not try to sell this for that ridiculous sum !

I am also collecting nice Chronographe Suisse, guess what I found among them ?

Also, why should this watch with a guilloche dial have "Military markings" on the back? Pure BS.

So, worth less than 10% of the asking price without the Breitling logo, if that; zero with the fake logo.
