Have been looking for a nice Cosmonaute for some time, ideally a 809, but could not resist to buy this close-to-NOS 81600 Lemania Cossie.

These were apparently launched in 1987, together with the 12-hour Lemania Navitimers with the same ref. no., the WUS Cosmonaute history http://forums.watchuseek.com/f39/breitl ... -4034.html shows the 81600 with a "new style" Breitling back, mine has the old 809-style back ?

The watch also carries the shortest serial no. I ever saw, 86.

Do you know for how long Cossies were manufactured in this configuration, I would love to date the watch as closely as possible ?

Thanks, WatchFred

Never seen one with that caseback, but I believe that they were produced for 3 or 4 years.
