hi guys new here but not to horology my dad has been repairing watches and clocks on and off for over forty years.Hobby was started by him whilst in the RAF and now i'm keen to keep it going.

i'll go straight in at the deep end with this

ok so i decided to be a little ambitious and get myself a slow burning project.

It's a vintage breitling chronomatic calibre 11/12 case and dial 2110.So it needs crown, bezel, movement, hands.I realize that this may take some time to complete and may cost a bit,but love a challenge and will be patient if necessary.

Now to my question......

Does anybody have any leads, contacts, websites that maybe able to help me along with this quest.Opinions and suggestions are also very much welcome.

Is the project even doable?

I've heard that maybe a universal geneve spacecompax bezel may fit anybody know if that's true.

Also crown size info would be handy.

Any information given is most appreciated and cash rewards are on offer for people that can help me acquire such parts.

I'm putting my faith in these boards.

pm if you prefer

Parts on these are not going to be easy to find, you are likely looking for donors to have any chance. I don't think that any of the normal supply houses (Frei, Borel, etc) have access to parts and Breitling can't help as it's a different company now and none of the old parts were retained.

thanks for the reply Roffensian. Its good just to hear other people opinions,it helps to build a better more informed picture.

I guessed i'd be looking for donor's for parts and i knew finding parts would be tough, nigh on impossible but i live in hope.

My main focus is getting a caliber 11/12 movement first.I am not that fussed about it being a breitling one either although a breitling one would be ideal.

A good movement will cost you at least $700 and if you could find the rest of the correct parts, you could have over $1000 into it in parts. My experience with this is to find a complete watch to start with or you will spend more for all the parts before its even together. I parted out a Heuer Autavia with a cal 12 last year that was missing the pushers for over $1600 on ebay - that is more that some of them sold for complete and running at the time. Good luck, Craig
