My recently acquired 7102 had some minor rust and oxidation inside, so it immediately went off to get serviced. I got it back Monday and discovered that the crown stem was not replaced—a miscommunication at the shop—so it is back getting that replaced.

When I received the watch, I noticed that the date appears in the date window lower than previously. This is oddly ironic, because I thought the date appeared a bit too high when I had it before. I was hoping my man would fix the problem with the service.

I've asked the watch repairer to see if he can center the date within the date aperture, but I thought I would also ask this group if anyone knows whether or not this is a common problem. I have seen the 7102 with dates centered, and I have also seen them with the date either a little high or low.

Is this something I will have to live with?

You shouldn't have to live with it.

Not sure what the gearing is on these date wheels, but it looks like a simple misalignment that the watchmaker can easily fix.
