Hi guys, wondering what my next vintage Breitling would be...maybe another 806 which offcourse would be the most popular option but not sure if would get bored with two same looking watches with subtle differences esp since I am also a regular wearer of vintage? Or a 785 or a vintage SuperOcean, confused:)..What would you do?

all black AVI ref 765, Unitime ref 1765 , SuperOcean ref 2005 or a 1940ies-50ies Chronomat ?

imho the early Chronomat 769 from 41/42 is the "patient zero" that raised Breitling above the competition, the "original" Navitimer, the first sliderule chronograph in the world and still lives on (including many design specifics) in the latest B01 Montbrillants, for me the "must have" icon.

I like the early 60s 810s a lot, great daily wearers, then comes a period in the late 60s and early 70s that René has omitted with a lot of watches that I like very much, so the list is quite long indeed, take your pick from here: http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewt ... 11&t=35656

that affordable all black AVI 765 with minute counter, of course, is the one many of us are hunting ......

Agreed - especially a 1941

"the" 765 is a little too wide, there are "regular" 765 waterproof from the early 40s onwards, part of the "Breitling 8" aviation line, then the 765 AVI and Co-Pilot line with the rotating bezels, all nice watches and quite rare, but the rarest and to me and others most desirable is the first 765 AVI from 1953 (or so) that had a digital chrono minute counter instead of the regular subdial.

Roff, let us not start a 1952 806 discussion about this, but there seems to be some indication there were 1941 pieces (advertisements, at least) and not only in 1942, totally impossible to prove as I have only the (quite believable) word of a collector of newspaper ads to support this & the serial numbers do not really help us pre-1944 (not that they solved the 1952/1954 riddle). Tend not to believe anybody knows anything for sure and not trying to claim I might be the one ....

Yeah, I've heard the stories, but I dunno - here's hoping.

For me it would be the Co Pilot (No 25) but with the shiny bezel on Lesters list courtesy of Fred. However my Triumph Tiger 1050 is coming next month so watches are taking a step back
