Hi everyone,

My uncle, whom is a watchmaker, had this old Breitling laying about in his cellar, and I immediately fell for it upon first sight.

When I got home I looked it up, but there was little written about this watch online, and not being educated on the subject, I ask for your help.
When is this watch (approximately) from, and does it have any considerable value?

I apologies for the quality of the pictures (I can upload new ones if necessary)

I would like to thank all repliers in advance.

Looks pretty early - late 50s maybe. We can be more precise, and provide ideas on value if you can provide photos of inside and outside of caseback and movement.

Thank you Roffensian.

I will ask my uncle to open up the watch the next time I see him.

Meanwhile, this is the back of the watch:

Taken with my iPhone camera, so I apologies for the poor quality:

Inner circle BREITLING (top) TRANSOCEAN (buttom)
Outer circle AUTOMATIC SWISS WATERPROOF

If this is utterly useless, I apologies for that as well :)

Nice one. The later Transoceans were signed chronometre on the dial under Transocean.

As for value you can watch this one and see what it does.

I bought this one last year.

Thanks for the replies.

Hope I'll be able to provide some pictures of the inside soon.

@Vintage: Wouldn't that be misleading since mine is not topped with 14K gold?

No, because there are those that prefer stainless steel over gold plated. The plating will often show wear after many years of use but with stainless you just give it a little polish to get it back presentable.
