I have been searching for the "right" Chronomat 808 for some time, with forum help and some research.

Here it is, I hope. Not as cheap as I would have liked, but everything seems to be ok for a 1960 808.4 ?
please let me have your expert comments (even if it hurts  ), thanks, WatchFred

the Chronomat virus has struck.
I have been looking for a black dial 808 & like this one from 1966.
I can live with the non-original crown and the - I think - non-original second hand, is there anything I am missing ?
Thanks in advance for the expert eyes, WatchFred

Movement markings are unusual - Swiss on the bridge, looks like something has been removed from the plate under the bridge, but nothing obviously wrong other than minor crown / hands issues.

The black dials are pretty rare... don't see too many around...

I did find one from an online dealer but he's asking for 3.5k... I think I'll pass...

May interpret this as a "thumbs up" for mine ?
Was looking for a nice black one for some time, got this at a decent price.
Now looking for the right crown and second hand to make it even nicer.

Actually even the MuseumLoungeLurker had one on offer with a realistic reserve (sold far below the 3.5k you mention), but he is on my embargo list. Apparently the market for unrealistically priced King“s watches is not what it used to be.

Now only the "right" 806 and 809 are missing, but I am afraid Kurt has them all.
