Post subject:  Vintage Breitling Identification

Hi all,
Stumbled upon this site while trying to help my father identify a watch he was given as a gift by his grandparents. We have been unable to find many breitling resourced online or at the local library. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks much in advance.

Hmm,

Well. I can't find any reference to a 9122 in the guide, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. The serial number dates it to 1972, and that's consistent with the logo, although the face certainly has an older style look to it.

Let me look into it a little more.....

Quick update, but I'm failing miserably on this one.

I have found a few references to a 9122 as a gentleman's manual wind watch, and found one indication that it may have had a Valjoux 7733, but cannot find any secondary verification for that. Still looking, but I'm struggling with this one - sorry.

I really appreciate the effort you are putting into this one. We have also found this watch to be a challenge to fully identify. Obviously, you have a much larger knowledge base than I on this subject. Would you have any guess at all as to value on it??

Thanks again

That's a difficult question for this watch, given the lack of information. All I can really do is give you some idea of what an early 70s two register chronograph is worth which puts it in the $800 - $1,200 (assuming that it's gold plated as the back is stainless)
