I am the lucky owner of a Breitling DDE BR 11525/67, 1806, Serial number 1323706. This watch was given to me as a present by my mum some 20 years ago. I had completely forgotten that I have this watch and I have recently re-discovered it at the bottom of one of my safe boxes. The automatic mechanism, the watch and the date function works fine. The chronograph cannot be activated via the push buttons on the side. I also have to be very delicate when I adjust the handles as I can feel slippage in the gearing inside. The plastic screen is scratched. It was serviced approx 15 years ago at which time some repairs were also carried out and the crown was replaced. We waited a long time to get hold of a Breitling crown which proved to be impossible. I would love to have it renovated and back to its original glory.

Does any one have any idea howmuch such a renovation could cost?

The Brietling dealer here in Dubai has recommended their preferred repair shop but I am very nervous to let any old person loose on my watch. What do you think?

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

We have a member here Chronodeco (Craig) who has worked on a lot of members' Breitlings and is highly recommended. He is in the US, but don't let that put you off. He'll need to see pictures to provide an accurate estimate but he will give you a very fair price and a very good job.

The 1806 is a great watch and well worth restoring.
