Hello,

i'm new to the forum and recently got this watch that belonged to my grandfather.

I've been googling a lot to try to find information about it, but i only have been able to find 'similar' looking models, none of them with the same dial.

The watch runs fine
It says "3301" on the back.

One of the lugs on the case is severely bent.
The dial has some oxydation dots but looks kind of ok overall. I'm still debating whether it's a good thing or not to have it refinished It feels like it would loose some of it's history or authenticity once they strip it out and re-print it...

It is now going to Breitling for a quote.

I wouldn't refinish it, it looks to be in fairly good shape and a clean will help. The case obviously needs some help though.

There are a ton of these dress watch models, I don't recognise this model number off the top of my head, I'll need to check the references. Photos of the caseback (inside and out) and movement would also help.

Probably made somewhere between mid 1950's to early 1960's. I'm thinking it has a Felsa movement inside. Interestingly Richter's book describes the ref 3301 as being gold plated but I don't see anything that would indicate the watch is wrong. I'd leave the dial alone and just send it to a case specialist to have the lug straightened.

I guess it could originally have been gold plated, but I doubt it - the case doesn't look like it was plated. Agree that it's likely a Felsa motor.

I also now have the serial number: 823757 which places it in 1956 from what i found on the web.

I can't take pictures of the movement since the watch has gone to Breitling for a quote. I will when i get it back.

3301 is gold plated according to Richter, and no mention of recessed crown. So that doesn't realy add up. Having said that ...
This watch looks good all over ! This case (similar anyway) is used for instance for the 4505 (and some other 4XXX models)
Don't know what to think realy....
Maybe a photo of the caliber will give some more insight.

I'm more inclined to believe the evidence of this watch than I am Richter.
