Picked this up some time ago...

Was heavily tarnished to the point that it looked like it was copper, crystal had a big crack and a split in it...generally pretty worn on the outside.

Now:
I don't honestly think the pictures do it justice but thats just my rubbish photography.

Can anyone give me a year for this with the serial number?
1-439-857

Sadly, its for sale soon :( ... but to be replaced by an 806 navitimer... 8)

Not restored but its almost NOS anyway so doesn't need it- here is my other Breitling- Top Time 2002 on (another!) new strap:

And finally... while I am in a picture posting mood...not a Breitling, but my Heuer carrera..

Great restoration job - who did it?

Serial dates to very early (within first 500 produced) 1976.

Not my sweet spot for vintage era, but may be interested if you are selling and the price is right.

Mmm, 3 beautiful watches - very nice indeed. I'm patiently waiting for my 815 as it undergoes a full refurb (Breitling Service Centre). Was quoted up to 6 months due to sourcing of obsolete parts.

Thanks guys- and those who have PM'd and not posted..

Lucky in one respect that this watch was/is mechanically sound- just physically battered.
Always the fear with vintage pieces- that some obscure parts break and you are left waiting a long time to source them!
