http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2808wt_922 I've looked through all of my resources and I'm sure I have just missed it but I can't seem to find this dial configuration with the lone "Breitling" at the top without AOPA insignia or anything else and the curved over the 6:00 subdial "Navitimer". Anyway I was just wondering, about what year was this produced? Thanks so much, Elwyn |

Not seen anything quite like this before, but it has to be a wrong 'un. There's no inside sliderule. |

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I usually am) but 806's don't say "Telemetre" on the slide rule do they? Isn't that usually Chronomats of this potential vintage? |

Correct. The bezel / subdials / hands are a bit of a mish mash on this one which is typical of the transition period of the early 60s, and there were some odd variations in the dial during this period, but this seems way out there. It's not an obvious redial, and Kurt has seen way more of these than I have, but the outer sliderule is useless without an inner sliderule so can't be factory original. |

Hard to say from which year this watch is but if I assume its from the 60ies (which the case & bezel seem to indicate) the hands , crown, case , bezel & silderule ring all seem to be correct but very well used and quite damaged The Dial however is definitely incorrect , the movement might be incorrect as well If you have a proper & correct dial and are lucky so the movement is a Venus 178 , you might be able to turn it into a proper Navitimer |

It's hard to say from these hopelessly bad pictures, but the dial is definitely not original, and maybe the condition of the pictures is a cover up for the rest of the watch, and the movement ? ? ? / Kurt ยจ ' br549 wrote: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260698193580&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_2808wt_922

I thought it was a rather unusual dial configuration that perhaps I was not familiar with or perhaps, as it turns out, as all have suggested, an incorrect watch. Guys I really appreciate your time and views on this. Very, very helpful. Thanks, Elwyn |
