Someone offered me a Navitimer 806 split second. I have never heard of it. Had Breitling produced a Navitimer 806 with split second ?

First time I have ever seen one - someone else will have to make the call on this one. Craig

My impression is that someone dreamed that up. Just looks all wrong for a watch produced by Breitling in 1966. If they did make it I doubt they would have called it an 806 since every other variation has a change in reference numbers.

May be your are right Paul, Maybe someone has dreamed it up, trimmed it up or tuned it up, or it was a prototype or so, I also dont know it.

But with the golden cases, it was different. Perhaps because of the small number of items Breitling has kept the same reference number. Or they have just used up the remaining stocks in 1966/67, same as other Navitimer parts in 1967. Even when I saw the Cosmonaute 809, it was signed with 806.

Here we go again, let's just cut to the end of the story and save everyone some time:

1) Michael, I mean Alex, has found an undocumented watch
2) Everyone with any knowledge looks at it and says that it's wrong
3) Michael / Alex / Norbert / whoever suggests that it's a very rare or prototype watch
4) Everyone says, no - it's wrong
5) The watch appears for sale on one of the many eBay accounts or websites associated with Michael (I don't need to give them traffic here by naming them) as a very rare watch with a $10,000 or so price tag

Sound familiar?

So I'm just curious...

if Michael offered it to you, but doesn't want to let go for 10k or even 20k, how much did he offer it to you for?

The plot thickens...

No thanks... I could think of 10 other watches I would rather spend my money on... including vintage pieces...
