Hey all,i'd like to know from the experts like you about a watch i bought 1 year ago from an auction.It described as with calibre 11 in 1970 and my main question is this:All the similar 1806's has the word chrono-matic under the navitimer,on dial.why not mine?Here is mine,  The caseback is hard to read,but i got a DDE BR 11525/xx Thank you in advance |

I've seen some without chrono-matic on the dial, and I've also seen some with automatic. From memory most of the ones that didn't have anything below Navitimer were the 1968 pre-series, which is also consistent with it being a calibre 11 - 1970 would probably be a calibre 12. Any chance of photos of the inside (caseback and movement)? |

I don't dare to open the back[as im not a specialist],this gonna happen on a service at the BSC only.There i'll post some pics of the movement and case back. |

Fair enough. It is slightly odd, the early ones usually had black date wheels so the red on this suggests later, but don't recall seeing too many later ones without chrono-matic. |

Should be able to date it by the s/n. My '68 1809 has a red date wheel with the same bezel. The minute and hour hands are red also. Seems like the later ones had the white hands. Of course, it all depends on what came out of the parts bin during the transitional period. With the cal. 11, my guess is '69 or '70. Now let's hear from the experts in this area because I'm certainly not one of them. |

Hi, Your 1806 seems to be a caliber 12 or later. 1806 with caliber 11 has a entirely black painted bezel and has "cut" hands what it is not the case here. DDE BR 11525/XX is not the serial number of the watch, this is a reference. On my 1806, I have exactly the same reference. The serial number is below the "1806" mark. You should read something like this: DDE BR 11525/XX 1806 Serial number The serial number is really hard to read and it's engraved differently than the reference, you must put your watch under a heavy light for reading it. The serial number shall begin with 12 or 13 and this is a 7 digit number. Your 1806 is not typical: the case seems to be entirely black painted and the dial doesn't have any "chrono-matic" which is very uncommon. Hand wounded navitimers from 1967 can be found with a dial like this one. If you are sure that the movement is really a caliber 11 maybe the hands, the bezel and the dial have been replaced during watch service or by a watchmaker when the watch has been sold (chronomatic dials are really hard to find). |
