hello this is my first post and i just want to ask people what they think of this watch i came across.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 180wt_1141

i have always wanted one of these chronomats and would consider purchasing this if it was repairable. i spoke to the seller and they said the spring holding in the bezel is missing? would this be easy enough to fix?

thanks in advance. marcello

I would leave this one alone. It does look like a Breitling, the case looks fine, it has the drilled lugs, caseback and stamping is consistent with 1945 which it's supposed to be, and the unmarked movement isn't a problem (although it doesn't look particularly refined and it may be a replacement). However, the dial doesn't look right - the lume has definitely been redone at some point and it looks like a redial - not particularly refined - look at Breitling and the inner and outer sliderule numbers.

Given the problems that the seller states - bezel is glued which could be a huge issue, the movement isn't sitting properly and it's not because of a missing movement screw so that may also indicate serious damage - much better ones out there.

I had my eye on this one too... the dial looks heavily redone... everything looks too "dark" on the dial... and the script is "bleeding"...
