Hi all,

as a bloody greenhorn who just joined the forum I need some expertise.

So far I understood that Breitling produced a lot of different configurations of the black 806.

Have the early Navitimers been equipped with 3 different hands at the subdials ?

I appreciate your help, thanks in advance !

Stay well, Julius

That's got second generation hour and minute hands - possible if this is a transitional piece from the early 60s, but could also be a service replacement on an earlier piece.

Chrono seconds is first generation as is the hour counter.

Running seconds and minute counter are wrong.

Thanks Roff

for your quick and helpful reply ! Great knowledge !

The seller says it`s from `63, he wants € 6000.- and claims it to be in "very good condition", which I doubt now !

The green colour (Is it corrosion or algae ?) behind the crystal and the overall impression by more pictures and
last but not least the lack of originality do in my opinion not justify the price-level.

As I just bought a `61 birthyear 806 for myself I thought about a matching `63 birthyear gift for my wife. ( although it`s

a men`s watch, but she likes mine very much !)

I figure I have to learn, watch out and be cautious with every offer !

Gooday and thanks again,

Julius

63 is about as late as it could be with this look, need the serial to know for sure. The movement may be in perfect condition, but based on what I see I don't think it's worth half of what he's asking - 6,000 Euros is a joke.

The green hue, combined with the look of the lume suggests to me that there has been some moisture in there at some point - not necessarily a huge issue as the dial can be restored, but the movement needs close inspection, and frankly I wouldn't bother at that price.

.... and there's a lot more where that came from!

Faked dial? Here we are: http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-Uhr-Navit ... 3efcf7fde7

Michael,

I expect an apology from you to Chris and Kurt right now

Chris K is NOT Kurt B - I guarantee it.

I have access to a lot of information about members and can see where they are posting from, who posts from which IPs, etc.

I warned everyone last week that if the attitude of people doesn't improve I will take action, and apparently I wasn't clear enough so let me try one more time..........

I will not tolerate personal attacks. I am thrilled that in the last month or so the vintage section has exploded with known and less well known experts having spirited debate, in particular about the 806. However there continues to be an undertone of nastiness in certain posts and every single one of those revolves around just one member.

It stops, and it stops now - forever!

The next time there is any kind of attack, no matter how mild, I will act.

I trust that there is now absolutely no doubt.

Cut it out, or get out.

Also the slide rule bezel is wrong. Bezels with red numbers only came up with the black/white dials.

It's soo wierd because I was JUST (in the last 20 minutes) looking at this seller and thinking about posting a link here on BS to his eBay stuff JUST so people could see some of the interesting pieces (e.g. King Hussain of Jordan Navi) he has in his collection. I also think it's neat he has some owners manuals (reprints) for some hard to come by older models of Breitling. I actually just emailed him to see if he has a manual for a Jupiter Pilot (A59028 - thank you Rof!)...
Anyway, looks like the forum has found him anyway, unfortunate about the circumstance.
He is the first seller I have seen that has a Breitling Compass.

this is 99 % true, and this is the first dial which changed from the numeral indices to the line Indices, an intermediate to the black/white dials. It has all signs of the black/white dial, but was only not white in the subdials.

It's also not unusual to see replaced outer slide rules during servicing (due to fading) that led to some red text on older 806s.

Did I miss the apology or are you testing to see if it was an idle threat?

. . . more easily than I can dishonesty and fraud.

The reasons I suggest Breitlingmuseum/Norbert/Michael/Premiumsells-net/Timegate21/Classic-Watch-Center be banned from here, eBay, the internet and all commerce are his dis-honest business practices. If you examine his completed auctions at eBay, you will detect irregular bidding activity.

He attempts to use this forum for sales promotion, he twists statements made by others into misleading advertising copy for his sales, and refuses to correct his listings when informed of contrary information.

Please ban me at the same time.
