Post subject:  I guess calling this one a rare bird is spot on….

As it is the only one I have ever seen with that dial layout in all of my time collecting Navitimers, and the first time ever I have seen Breitlings name on the dial of a black 806 AOPA Navitimer together with an AOPA signed AOPA wing, it is from 1955.

Interesting.

Alan's article has a picture of a 1953 (or whenever) that has Breitling and the AOPA wings, but that also has Geneve on the dial, so not the same as this one.

Yes, but it is not AOPA signed inside the wing like this one...... ! ! !

And that's what makes it so rare.
