I have a chrono matic breitling model 2110 that has been identified as requiring a new gear wheel inside. i have been quoted around 500 pounds for the watch repairing but i am considering selling the watch. could someone please help me value the watch. it has no strap but is in fairly good condition.

many thanks

charlie.

GBP500 for a gear wheel is a ripoff. Even if the watch is getting a full service and the wheel is being fabricated it shouldn't be more than half of that, likely less. A member here chronodeco (Craig) may be able to help you out with a much better price.

I would like to see photos before commenting on value, including movement pictures as there were different variations.

yeah for a gear wheel 500 pounds is a bit excessive... even though parts for these caliber 11's are difficult to come by... that's like over a 1K in USD?

I assume since you're mentioning pounds you're somewhere in the UK? Did BUK quote you this?

As they say... if the belly button is bigger than the belly...

If you're really serious about fixing it, then I'll second Craig (chronodeco) here in the states...
